WE ARE PROJECT COLOR CORPS ...
Look at the places where we expect children to learn, families to connect, and people to thrive.
In far too many neighborhoods and communities, these buildings are not welcoming; they don’t make the people who use them feel joy or valued.
These are essential locations that provide the backdrop to our lives and our memories: schools, libraries, community centers, and areas of play.
Together, we can transform these buildings into places where people want to be, places where everyone feels like they belong, places we can all be proud to be a part of—places where our whole community can celebrate everyday life.
Color is the starting point—and it’s just the beginning.
OUR PURPOSE
1. Our surroundings directly impact how we feel.
2. Color has the power to change the way we see the world around us.
3. Color has the power to change the way we see ourselves.
Color is a way of telling the stories that we don’t quite have the words for. Color reflects who we are and who we want to be.
When we talk about color, play with color, and identify what color means to us—color can be a process that makes us proud to be part of something. Color acts as a point of connection between ourselves and our feelings; it also connects us to one another and represents our larger, shared stories.
WHAT WE DO
Project Color Corps engages the community and professional designers in developing a design scheme that reflects their unique essence—creating a greater sense of ownership, empowerment, and pride.
We then employ professional painters and galvanize volunteers to roll up their sleeves and paint. Throughout this process, we teach students and community members the fundamentals of color, the connection between color and emotion,
and how color can be transformative.
OUR PEOPLE
Although color is crucial to what we do, nothing is more important than our team of amazing individuals that work to bring that color to our projects.
